Ellie Forrester is a Scottish soprano and Young Artist in the 2026/27 cohort at the National Opera Studio (NOS), studying under the tutelage of Mary Plazas. She recently graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music, where she completed her Master of Music and Bachelor of Music.

Her operatic repertoire includes roles such as The Fox (The Cunning Little Vixen), Fata Morgana (L’amour des trois oranges), Elettra (Idomeneo), Miss Wingrave (Owen Wingrave), La Contessa (Le nozze di Figaro), and Asphodèle (L’étoile). This summer, Ellie joined Garsington Opera as an Alvarez Emerging Artist, covering the role of Marianne Leitmetzerin (Der Rosenkavalier).

A versatile performer on the recital and concert stage, Ellie has appeared as a soloist in Mahler’s Symphony No. 2, Handel’s Solomon, and Vivaldi’s Dixit Dominus and Magnificat, alongside numerous recitals across the UK.

 

At the RNCM, she was awarded second prize in The Joyce and Michael Kennedy Award for the Singing of Strauss, was a finalist in The Frederic Cox Award, and is a recipient of the Dame Eva Turner Award.
